Coaching Prompt

QA: If you're not hungry, what's motivating you to eat so much?

Tips & Tools

Tip#107 - Don't let the word "salad" fool you when dining out. Real salads have hearty vegetables and don't come in at 1500 calories!

Who is Coach Roz?

Eight years ago, I weighed 232 pounds and I'm only 5'0". I was fat.

Most of my childhood I was a chubby kid because I suffered from severe asthma and took medication that packed on the pounds. But, many of those health issues cleared by puberty, but the over eating habits remained. Then, I started my first diet when I was sixteen years old and the yo-yo dieting began.

For 16 years I tried bunches of diets and programs like Atkins, Phen-Fen, Weight Watchers, losing the same 20, 30, 40, 50 pounds over and over and over again. I was a yo yo Dieter. Even after researching gastric by-pass surgery as a possible permanent fix, the statistics were not showing a permanent weight loss. Gastric by-pass surgery clients were even gaining a lot of weight back after two to three years.

What, people who have bariatric surgery don't lose weight forever?

"Oh NO!" I was preparing to have gastric by-pass surgery in late 2001 and now I find out that it's not a quick fix and it's not permanent fix.

Then I asked myself, "what am I going to do to maintain a weight loss, no matter how I choose to lose weight again"

First off, I got real with myself:

  • The surgery was only going to restrict the amount of food I ate for one year.
  • The surgery was only going to restrict the amount of calories I absorbed for two years.
  • The surgery was NOT going to change my taste buds, my poor habits, my preoccupation with food that led to impulsive and compulsive eating all the time.
  • The surgery was NOT going to get me moving more and eating good food regularly, forever
Second, I asked myself "How do I lose the weight and keep it off forever?"

Asking myself this question changed my whole life... I discovered the secret to maintaining a weight loss, and now I want to share that secret with you!

I am Coach Roz, committed to helping you find the courage to change!
